Critical Airflow have provided the solutions to control and manage the stringent pressurisation and directional airflow regimes at the new £55 million state-of-the-art 7,200 square meter manufacturing centre for Cell Therapy Catapult, at the Stevenage Bioscience Catalyst campus.

The manufacturing centre, which opened in the first quarter of 2018, will provide the UK with the manufacturing facilities needed for large scale cell and gene therapy clinical studies and commercialisation.

The centre features a series of large clean room modules and is designed to enable companies to accelerate and scale manufacturing of these innovative products, as well as enabling collaboration on the innovative technologies required to manufacture and supply treatments from the factory to clinic.

The centre has been specifically designed to meet the significant demands of cell and gene therapy manufacturing. The adaptable clean room design will allow the development of autologous or allogenic manufacturing processes, as well as viral vectors.
